Colours of the 1970s - Series

"Colours of the 1970s" by Mia Kolaras is a fashion portrait series which explores the vibrancy of fashion throughout the 1970s. Inspired by the famous 70s model, Twiggy, Mia wishes to explore how retro fashion concepts, scenes and interesting poses can work to showcase the model, the colours, and the clothing - similarly to the work of Twiggy.

The concepts included: patterned clothing, colour-coordinated outfits, disco themes, bold makeup, and objects associated with the time to enhance the effect of the photograph.

The project aims to be a way to adore and appreciate past photography and different artistic styles from the era. The 1970's had interesting tastes when it came to photography and fashion photos, which is where the project got its inspiration from.

A colourful and interesting series in its whole, to honour the time and the people within that artistic era.
