About
Mia Kolaras is a versatile photographer based in Toronto, Ontario. She has a passion for capturing through a lens which has always interested her as a storyteller. Growing up in a very diverse family, capturing memories for family and friends through different traditions has helped her expand her idea of photography as a whole, allowing her to hold onto precious memories.
With her first ever digital camera being gifted to her at age 4, Mia has understood the value of capturing the world around her from a very young age. She has mainly been in front of the camera as a subject for her whole life, as there are many other photographers in her family, but she wishes to expand her creative practice by exploring ideas and worlds she creates on her own while being behind the camera.
Mia is currently working towards a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Toronto Metropolitan University at the School of Image Arts, and runs many of her own projects and holds sessions for clients, such as event photography, portrait photography & documentary photography. She has been featured as a volunteer photographer for Toronto Metropolitan University's paper, The Eyeopener, and in many exhibitions held in her school's showings. She has also recently been hired as a Photographer for Toronto Met Fashion and Film for the 2026-2027 season. She has been featured in the first issue of Calibrator Magazine, an IMA student-run magazine which features work from multiple students in the Image Arts community. Mia has an interest in fashion photography and wishes to expand her career into the fashion industry in the future.
